It's been over a month since the passing of the late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba popularly known as Mohbad on 12th September 2023.
Several protests have been held both online and offline. After several interrogations and investigations by the police, the reason behind the mysterious death of the artist cannot be explained.
The last development on the case was that an autopsy had been carried out and the results would be out soon. That was a month ago and it seems the public has moved on from the death of the beloved artist Mohbad.
Yesterday was the second sitting of the coroner's inquest at Ikorodu Magistrate Court in Lagos. The singer's parents, wife, son and other close associates all appeared in court yesterday.
Here's a video of them arriving in court:
An eyewitness known as Ajisegiri Ayobami who identified himself as the late singer's disc jockey gave his testimony in court yesterday that Mohbad sustained an injury after his fight with his childhood friend Primeboy at the last show he had in Ikorodu.
It was just a small cut on his hand but by the time he got home, it was already swollen. According to Ajisegiri, they tried reaching Mohbad's personal nurse but her phone wasn't reachable so a team member known as Spending referred him to another nurse who gave him the injection. Mohbad's DJ said it was shortly after Mohbad was injected, he started vomiting and he collapsed.
He narrated that the nurse asked them to go to the pharmacy to get him drugs. On getting to the pharmacy, he called to check on Mohbad's health and they asked him to come back home.
On getting there, they were already trying to put him inside a neighbor's car unconscious and looking lifeless. There was traffic on the way to the hospital and they tried getting an ambulance but the hospital didn't have one. They had to put Mohbad on a bike to the hospital and on getting there, he was dead on arrival.
