Family Of Five Die After Inhaling Generator Fumes.
A family consisting of 5 people, including the father, mother and 3 children have died in Ogun State after they inhaled the fumes from the generator. This family resides in Bisodun village in Ogun State.
The corpses of these family were found in the house by members of the community.
They discovered these corpses after they perceived a terrible odor from their house.
The family members were identified as Adeshina family.
We learnt that this family left their generator on throughout the night and went to bed. The family of 5 was most likely suffocated to death.
We learnt that the bodies were discovered 2 days after they had died.
Apparently, they put the generator inside the house so it won't get stolen. The fumes coming out from the generator are hazardous to health and this was what killed the family.
The dead bodies were transferred to the hospital for autopsy.
Dr Yusuf Lapite who is a public health expert mentioned that the family may have inhaled the generator fumes for several hours.
Dr. Lapite explained that inhaling generator fumes for several hours easily damages the lungs and victims of such may be choked to death.
He then advised that people should place their generator far from the house in an open space if possible to avoid such accidents.
