FEC approves N449.9m for development of master plan for 17 airports in Nigeria.


The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N449.9 million for the development of a master plan for 17 airports in Nigeria.

This is for the engagement of consultants for this plan.

Garba Shehu who is the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Media and Publicity, revealed this.

He mentioned this information when he briefed State House correspondents just yesterday.

This was after the FEC meeting which was presided over by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo. This happened at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He revealed the names of these airports and they include Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, Port Harcourt International Airport, airports in Imo State, Owerri, Enugu, IBADAN, Jos, Calabar, Edo, Benin, Maiduguri, Yola, Borno, Adamawa, Ilorin, Katsina, Sokoto, and Akure.

He also revealed that FEC approved a sum of N3.4 billion naira for the construction of a second runway at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

He also revealed that contracts were also approved for the Ogoni remediation in Rivers.

He revealed that the FCT had also gotten another approval which was a contract for the full scope development of the Shehu Shagari Way for N91 billion.

There was also approval revised estimated total cost/augmentation of the contract for the provision of access road to Kabusa Garden Estate, Dako District in FCT and this is for N6.6 billion among other approvals gotten in FCT.
