In celebration of the Islamic festive period widely known as Eid-l-Adha, the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared both Wednesday, June 28th, and Thursday, June 29th, as public holidays for all.
Eid-l-Adha is a yearly celebration carried out by Muslims across the globe.
It is a festive period usually marked months after Eid-l-Fitir to honor Almighty God and Prophet Ibraheem ( May peace be unto him, Ameen).
It is that time of the year that marks the completion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, where every able Muslim household is mandated to slaughter a ram as a sacrifice.
This information was made known to the public by the permanent secretary at Ministry of Interior, Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, via a signed communique.
Akinlade Implored all Muslims to emulate the footsteps of Prophet Ibraheem (May peace be unto him, Ameen), as the man of God was known for his staunch obedience to Almighty God.
He also urged Nigerians, in general, to make sacrifices for the development of the society and Nigeria as a whole.
