FG orders airlines to relocate their planes from the Abuja terminal ahead of Inauguration
The Federal Government has given directives to airlines to relocate their planes from the Abuja terminal.
The FG gave this order as they announced the date for full resumption of international flights into Nigeria as September 5.
They told all the airlines that operate at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja to relocate to other airports.
They mentioned this through the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN)
Mr Kabir Mohammed who is the Regional General manager of FAAN was the one who gave a statement
He revealed that this is temporary. It is due to the upcoming Presidential Inauguration ceremony. This will be on the 29th of May, 2023.
He mentioned that the inauguration is a high-security event and is a very important one.
He said to ensure security of those involved, all aircraft on the terminal need to leave temporarily.
They gave them till the 22nd of May to carry out this activity.
He apologised for the inconvenience but mentioned this is important because the people involved are of priority.
He then said those with questions and concerns should contact them.
