FG reveals 160 women who claim to be Nigerians in Sudan don't have passports to return.
The Federal Government had revealed that about 160 women who claim to be Nigerians don't have passports to show for it and to fly back to Nigeria. These women are in ausdan but have claimed they are Nigerian.
Recall the government began to evacuate their nationals some weeks back from the crisis ridden country, Sudan.
Mustapha Ahmed who is the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) revealed the news about these women in Sudan.
He was briefing the press about the progress Nigeria has made in the evacuation of their people from Sudan.
He says some women have claimed they are Nigerians but have no Nigerian passports to show for it.
He revealed that they are being careful not to evacuate anyone who isn't a Nigerian .
They have said that other than the 2,518 Nigerians who have been evacuated back to Nigeria, they are unable to confirm or verify the identity of the others who claim to be Nigerians.
He mentioned some Sudanese who were desperate had attempted to enter the buses that were meant for Nigerians.
He said those with verified documents are being granted evacuation.
