Fire destroys 1 shop in shopping complex in Ilorin.
A fire incident has occured in Ilorin, Kwara State just recently. This incident happened at a shopping complex in Ilorin recently. This particular complex consists of about 20 shops in total.
The shopping complex is located at Fufu Street, Sabo-Oke area in Ilorin, Ilorin East Local Government Area.
The fire incident occurred on Saturday morning which was yesterday.
The fire destroyed a shop in the shopping complex as well as the goods stored in the shop which are worth millions of naira.
The spokesman of the state fire service, who is Hassan Adekunle has confirmed this news. He revealed that the fire incident happened around 5:57 am.
He says this fire outbreak is linked to a power surge.
He says that they had received a distress call from a witness. He says the Kwara State Fire Service team immediately responded to the scene of the incident.
They were able to prevent the fire from spreading further than it already had and were able to put everything under control.
It was only one shop which was affected in this shopping complex consisting of 20 shops.
The Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, has pleaded with people to learn to turn off their electrical appliances to prevent such incidence.
