Fire destroys 5 bedroom apartment in Anambra State


A recent fire incident in Anambra State has led to the destruction of a 5 bedroom apartment. The fire engulfed the building destroying the rooms in this building. This incident occurred yesterday, Wednesday Sept 27, 2023.

Some Firefighters were there at the scene on Wednesday to put off the fire in the building. This was in the Agu-Aba layout, Mopol Base, Agu Awka in Anambra State. The 5 bedroom duplex caught fire due to a power surge. One of the rooms in the duplex got burnt completely and all the porperities in it were destroyed.

It was the state fire chief who is Engr. Martin Agbili that confirmed this incident. He was the one who confirmed that a power surge had caused the incident. He revaled that the firefighters in the state responded to the incident there swiftly and were able to put it off. They prevented the fire from spreading further than it did.

He stated “At about 7.56 pm on Wednesday, september 27, 2023, Anambra State Fire Service received a distress call of a fire in a residential home at No. 10, Uche Mmaduabuchi Agu-Aba layout off Mopol Base, Agu Awka. Immediately, our fire truck and diligent firefighters were deployed to the scene of the fire for its extinguishment. The fire was fought, controlled and extinguished. The cause of the fire was a power surge and there was no record of any casualty or loss of life.”

He shared that they saved the other rooms I the hulking from burning as well as other buildings close by too. He disclosed that they finally left the scene of the incident around 9.57 pm at night.
