Fire destroys Ogun market, traders count losses.


Fire has destroyed a market in Ogun state recently. This has led to some traders counting their losses as properties were burtn by the fire.

The fire incident occurred at a plank market in Sango Ota area in Ogun State. Thus happened on Thursday.

So many properties worth millions were burnt and destroyed.

Some witnesses revealed that the fire started around 10am. The cause is yet to be known as of now. None of the traders really understand how the fire started yet.

He says he had seen smoke coming out and then saw some shops been burnt and the fire spreading rapidly to other shops.

Most of the shop owners were not around yet as at the time the fire started.

The traders revealed that when they saw the fire they ran to the Indomie company and it was there fire service that put out the fire before the state fire service arrived at the scene.

Bayo Ogundele who is the Commander of the Indomie Fire Service, revealed that nothing less than 12 shops were burnt.

The Director of the State Fire Service, Adefala Fatai, simoly said the fire was out out but the fire service service they were contacted.
