Five soldiers killed in Borno explosion
Five Nigerian soldiers have been killed in the borno state explosion.
Borno State is in the North East area of Nigeria.
They died after the vehicles had hit a mine. The mine was suspected to have been planted by some Jihadists around Niger border. This is according to some security sources.
The soldiers were on patrol in a village known as Laayi on Monday when they drove over the mine and the incident happened.
As they drove over it, they set off the mine causing the explosion.
The explosion killed all the 5 soldiers in the vehicle.
Recall jihadists had attacked the village and kidnapped 4 residents the night before thus happened. We learnt that they planted these mines when they were retreating.
The spokesman of the army was requested to comment in the incident but he is yet to respond.
