Former Italian footballer Rosolino Lino Celesia has been shot dead in his homeland Italy, according to reports.

The former Torino academy player was reportedly killed following a beef with two brothers. Italian outlet revealed the former footballer had an altercation with his assailants weeks before he was shot.

It is still unclear what instigated the fallout between Celesia and the two brothers but it is believed the latter must have acted in vengeance after the fallout.

While the identities of the assailants are yet to be revealed, details of the incident shows Celesia was shot dead in the bathroom of a nightclub.

The two brothers, who are aged 17 and 22, are said to have acousted Celestia in the bathroom and fired three shots on his back and neck before fleeing away.

Celesia was helped to the hospital after the incident but was pronounced dead by medics on arrival.

His death has been attributed to the open wounds he sustained from the gunshot.

According to reports, the two brothers who instigated the attack, are now under the radar of Italian police, who have ordered for their immediate arrest.

As per footage of the murder scene, the younger of the two brothers is said to have committed the act and will be charged with murder while his brother will be charged for illegal possession of firearms.

Rosolino Lino Celesia is a former Italian footballer, who was shot dead by two young brothers.

Rosolino emerged into the spotlights following his fatal demise. He did not has a ripe football career. Aged 22, Rosolino was born and raised in Palermo, Italy but he began his football career with Trapani, a lower division side in Italy.

He edged close to a full-blown professional career when he joined Torino youth academy from Trapani but could not break into the club's first team.

After a spell with Torino academy, he returned to Palermo and played for clubs in Italy lower division before calling time on his career on a prime age.
