Four people were arrested for driving a vehicle that carried a coffin to a funeral on the pitch during a preseason football match, forcing the referee to abandon the match.
The match between two non-league teams, Gateshead and Dunston, was called off by halftime on July 21, 2023, shortly before 8:30 p.m.
The Funeral vehicle spun around in a circle, and a leaflet was thrown from one car to another.
The Men put on an outfit that covered all their bodies from head to toe, left the first car, and entered the second car, which was driven out of the field.
No one was injured during the brief incident. However, damage was done to the gate of the stadium as the men drove the funeral car into the pitch.
