French photographer Marie-Laure de Decker passes away at age 75
Popular French photographer Marie-Laure de Decker has passed away. She died yesterday, the 15th of July at the age of 75 Years. She was born on the 2nd of August 1947.
She was highly recognised and well-known for her war photography. She covered the Vietnam War.
She was at first a French model but later became a photographer. She was 20 when she was a model.
It was her family who announced the news of her death yesterday, Saturday. They revealed that she passed away in a hospital on Saturday. This was after a long battle with an illness.
She took photos of the Vietnam War and this was just in the early stages of her career. This was very successful even though she didn't have much experience at the time.
What led her to photography was when she met a photographer named Dominique merlin and saw some documentaries he had made about the Vietnam War and was inspired.
She began to develop herself and kept learning and even located 2 artists she loved and took photos of them. These were Man Ray and Marcel Duchamp.
She later got married to a lawyer named Thierry Levy and they had 2 sons together.
