The Nigeria Police Force has promoted a total of 31,465 of its officers. Usman Alkali-Bab, the Inspector-General of Police, has urged the 31,465 promoted officers to do what is expected of them as officers of the law.
24,991 police officers were promoted from the ranks of sergeants to inspectors, 194 from corporals to sergeants, and 6,280 officers were promoted from constables to corporals.
In his words, the IG charged the newly promoted officers "To develop the lofty principles and values of modern policing and discharge their duties as expected of them."
This news was announced to the public by Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force's Public Relations Officer on Thursday.
