Cristiano Ronaldo was not overly impressed with the female referee who officiated the Al-Nassr Vs Al-Hilal Riyadh Season Cup clash.

The match, which pitted the two Saudi league giants, was Cristiano Ronaldo's first appearance for Al-Nassr in 2024. It was a disappointing outing for Portuguese and world footballing sensation as Al-Nassr stumbled to a dramatic 2-0 defeat.

Former Lazio and Serie A midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic came up clutch for Al-Hilal, scoring in the 17th minute to give the Saudi league title hopefuls the lead.

Al-Nassr held a commanding sway over proceedings going forward but struggled to convert their dominance into goals. They could only manage just a shot on target and were dealt a heavy blow when Salem Al Dawasari doubled the lead for Al-Hilal in the 30th minute.

Cristiano Ronaldo was frustrated in the game as he failed to live up to the billing with his rustic start for Al-Nassr after returning from injury.

In one of his moments of frustration, Ronaldo lost his cool against the match's center referee, Enso Penso - an American female football referee.

In a viral footage shared in this post, Ronaldo apparently fumed with a decision from Penso. He was brandished a yellow card for the dissent but the Portuguese seemed not to care as he then went full circle with his anger remonstrating with his arms the referee should be sent off.

Cristiano did play the full 90 minutes as Al-Nassr suffered a 2-0 defeat no thanks to goals from Milinkovic-Savic and Dawasari.

Cristiano Ronaldo will be hoping to return the team to winning ways when they resume competitive action in the AFC Champions League against Al-Feiha on Wednesday, February 14.
