Fujitsu Limited and Supermicro, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI) have entered a strategic, long-term collaboration to develop advanced AI computing technology and sustainable data center solutions. This partnership focuses on combining their engineering expertise to deliver cutting-edge systems optimized for AI, high-performance computing (HPC), and cloud environments, while prioritizing energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

A central aspect of this collaboration is the development of a next-generation platform powered by Fujitsu’s upcoming Arm-based "FUJITSU-MONAKA" processor. Slated for release in 2027, this processor employs groundbreaking 2-nanometer technology to offer high performance, energy efficiency, and scalability, tailored for the increasingly demanding AI and HPC workloads. This aligns with the rising global emphasis on green IT, driven by the need for sustainable infrastructure as AI-driven data center demand surges.

In addition to AI processing, the partnership will focus on liquid-cooled systems designed to reduce power consumption in data centers. Supermicro’s expertise in shipping industry-leading liquid-cooled solutions, combined with Fujitsu’s processor technology, aims to create an optimal platform for energy-efficient computing in cloud and edge environments.

By integrating Fujitsu’s innovative processor and Supermicro’s server design approach, the partnership seeks to build versatile solutions for both on-premises and cloud-based data centers. Fujitsu’s subsidiary, Fsas Technologies Inc., will further extend this collaboration by providing generative AI platforms globally, combining Supermicro’s GPU server products and tailored services for data center operators.

This alliance underscores a joint commitment to delivering high-performance AI infrastructure that not only meets the growing computational demands but also significantly reduces the environmental footprint of data centers worldwide. Both companies aim to lead the way in sustainable digital transformation (DX) by advancing green AI infrastructure that balances technological growth with environmental responsibility.
