Manchester United former defender and Premier League pundit Gary Neville said he had no sympathy for Chelsea after they lost the FA Cup final to Liverpool.

Neville, in a viral commentary on the London outfit, said Chelsea players were a 'billion pound bottlejobs' following their underwhelming performance against Liverpool.

Neville's comment was in sequence to Jurgen Klopp's bold and brave move to experiment with Liverpool academy stars such as Bobby Clark, Jarrell Quansah, James McConnell, and Jayden Danns in the high-profile encounter.

Struggling with a niggling injury crisis that ruled out top first-team players like Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones, Mac Szosboszlai, Allison Becker, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jurgen Klopp still had his way against Chelsea.

A brilliant start at Wembley saw Chelsea come close to several chances to take the lead. Raheem Sterling finally got the Blues in front but his goal was ruled out after a VAR check.

The Blues registered 5 big chances in the game but failed to make them count. Liverpool finally got the better of the London outfit in the 128th minute when Virgil van Dijk headed home the winner to separate the two sides.

According to Gary Neville, Chelsea were below par and did not live up to their measure against an injury-ravaged Liverpool.

In a harsh but satirical tone, Neville said the match was more of Liverpool academy players with little or no experience against a billion pound squad of flops assembled by Todd Boehly.

''It's Klopp's kids against the blue billion pound bottlejobs. For Chelsea I've got no sympathy whatsoever,'' Neville said.

Neville's remark is a subtle dig at Chelsea and Todd Boehly's ludicrous spending to assemble the squad. Boehly had expended over a billion pounds to assemble the current Chelsea squad. And it appears the results are not forthcoming.

The American investor was on the stands at Wembley for the first time in months to watch his side trade tackles with Liverpool. It was the club's first final since he took over. And sadly, it ended in a disappointment as the Blues surrendered at the death to the Merseyside outfit.

They will be hope to weather the Carabao Cup final heartbreak when they return to action against Leeds United in FA Cup fifth-round clash on Wednesday.
