Governor Sanwo-Olu seeks to reposition education policy to produce self-reliant graduates
During the opening of the 67th National Council of Education, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu sought to reposition Nigeria's education policy to produce more self-reliant and employable graduates. During his speech at the event, he called for a collaboration between the stakeholders in the education sector to ensure that "self-reliant youths are produced through the state and national educational system." Also, producing graduates who will blend with the demands of the labor market has become paramount to the future of jobs in Nigeria.
Their discussion was borne out of the theme of the NCE meeting which was "Addressing the challenges of policy implementation: A panacea for the achievement of Education 2030 Agenda."
Mr. Andrew Anejo, the Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education also urged the stakeholders in the education sector to build a concert foundation for inculcating the right educational knowledge in students and leverage education as a tool to contribute to Nigeria's development.
