Gregg Berhalter has been reappointed as United State of America manager, six months after his contract expired while an investigation was going on about what he did in the past.
Gregg Berhalter spent four years as United State of America manager before he admitted that he kicked his wife while they were teenagers.
He was then investigated by the US soccer Association but they didn’t see the investigation as an obstruction to appointing him ahead of the next World Cup.
Berhalter released a statement that was signed by him and his wife Rosalind. The couple shared the details about what happened in 1992 and Berhalter has no excuse for his action.
Berhalter said ”One night, when out drinking at a local bar, Rosalind and I had a heated argument that continued outside. It became physical and I kicked her in the legs”.

He continued: “While the authorities were never involved in this matter, I voluntarily sought out counseling to help learn, grow, and improve, one of the most valuable decisions that I ever made. To this day, that type of behavior has never been repeated.”
After accepting the role as the new manager he released a statement saying “I’m grateful to have the opportunity to build on our achievements at the World Cup and to contribute to this exciting time for soccer in our country,”
“We look forward to continuing our journey together to make our fans and our nation proud.”
Berhalter will now lead America to the next FIFA World Cup in 2026. In the last 2022 World Cup, he led United State of America to the round of 16 where they were eliminated by the Netherlands.
Prior to that result in the last World Cup, Berhalter enjoyed a win over Iran and draw against Wales and England.
