Group pleads with FG is ensure no life is lost in the Sudan crisis

A group of Natives has called on the Federal Government to ensure that no life is lost in the Sudan crisis.

They have pleaded with the FG to put in more effort to rescue fellow Nigerians from Sudan.
This is happening due to the 72 hour (3 day) ceasefire that the parties have agreed to.

Recall just 2 days ago, Geoffrey Onyeama who is the Minister of Foreign Affairs, gave his promise that they had completed the arrangements to evacuate 5,000 citizens in Sudan and this would be by road.

He mentioned this on Channels Television. This was a week after the violence and crisis began in Sudan.

Some other countries have begun to evacuate their people including Japan, France and also Saudi Arabia.

The coordinator of this group which was pleading with the FG told them to please make use of their diplomatic contacts to ensure their safety.

He mentioned all these to journalists in Abuja yesterday, Tuesday.

He said they recognise the efforts been made but they wanted to push for more so that no life will be lost.

The coordinator, Mr Edwards also mentioned he had confidence in the incoming administration and there would be peaceful coexistence.

This group also called on the African Union and ECOWAS to intervene in the matter.
