Gunmen kill 4 during attack at Supermarket in Nasarawa state
A tragic incident has occurred in Nasarawa state just 3 days into the new year, 2024. At least 4 people were killed by some gunmen who attacked a supermarket in Nasarawa state, Nigeria. This incident occurred on Tuesday, the 2nd of January 2024. Some gunmen attacked a supermarket in a village located near Mararaba in the Karu local government area in Nasarawa. According to the police, the incident is currently under investigation so they can determine the motive behind the tragic incident (the attack on the supermarket and the death of these 4 victims).
Reports of this incident was made available on Wednesday, the 3rd of January 2024. The incident occurred around 8:45pm on Tuesday night. The name of the supermarket that was attacked is Wisdom supermarket located in Adehi, Karu LGA. The incident was confirmed by the Nasarawa state police spokesperson who is Ramhan Nansel. He confirmed that 4 people were killed in the attack. The Nasarawa state commissioner of Police who is Umar Nadada has given directives to the state Criminal investigative department (SCID) in the state to take charge of the ongoing investigation.
The spokesperson also revealed that these gunmen had raided the supermarket and began shooting sporadically leading to 4 people being shot in the supermarket. These victims were taken to the hospital and the doctors confirmed them dead. Their bodies have been deposited at the morgue in Maraba Medical center. He disclosed that was the investigation is completed, the outcome will be revealed to the public.
