Gunmen kill a couple and five policemen in Imo state
Some Gunmen have reportedly killed 5 policemen in Imo State. This incident happened on Friday morning, April 21.
They killed these policemen around Okpala Junction in Ngor Okpala LGA in Imo State.
These gunmen also killed a couple in the same state.
The couple has been identified as Mr and Mrs Chinaka Nwagu.
This incident happened around 8am in the morning.
Many members of the community where this happened have become frightened by the News.
Sources state that the policemen who were killed were at that junction to eat and while they were eating, some men came into the compound and started shooting.
3 out of the 5 policemen died on the spot after they were shot while the others were able to run to a shop to take coverind. Despite this, the gunmen chased them into the shop and shot them dead.
These gunmen also shot the owners of the shop who happened to be the couple they killed.
These gunmen took away the rifles of the policemen after they had killed them and drove off.
The market was shut as everyone ran for their lives.
Mr Henry Okoye who is the spokesperson for the police in Imo State mentioned he was yet to be briefed about the incident but promised to make findings.
