Gunmen shoot students in Barber's shop in Osun state.


Some gunmen have shot some students in a Barber's shop recently in Osun State. These students who are 3 in number have been hospitalised due to this incident.

These are students of the Osun State College of Health Technology in Ilesa. This incident occurred in a Barber's shop located in Amuta Junction, Ilesa, close to the institution.

These gunmen are suspected to be cultists. This incident occurred on Sunday when these gunmen attacked the Barber's shop where the victims had gone to charge their phones.

The victims who were shot include 2 males and 1 female who haven't been identified yet.
They were rushed to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital in Osogbo and have been hospitalised.
The cause of the shooting or the motive behind the shooting has not been ascertained yet.

A witness In the area shared that they suddenly heard gunshots at a barber’s shop. He says there were 3 students there who were charging the phones.

They went to the scene and saw that these 3 students had been shot. He says they weren't dead when they found them and rushed them to the hospital in Osogbo.

Mr Kehinde Adeleke, who is the Public Relations Officer of Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, confirmed this incident. He revealed that the incident was reported but they haven't gotten the details of the suspects involved in the crime.

He said that this incident occurred around 9pm on the 23rd of July which was a Sunday.
He shared that the students sustained high degrees of injuries which are bullet wounds.

He said the victims were taken to University of Osun Teaching Hospital Osogbo by people I'm the community but they were later referred to OAU Teaching Hospital, in Ile-Ife.
