A history-making day for Harry Kane at the Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor was marred with a freaking injury blow for the player.

Kane scored the second goal in Bayern Munich's thrashing of Darmstadt in Bundesliga matchday 26 clash.

The England attacking sensation scored in first-half stoppage time to complete a first-half comeback for the away side.

Jamaal Musiala had canceled out Skarte's 28th-minute opener for Darmstadt, scoring six minutes after the half-hour.

In the second half, Musiala would score again to bag his brace and extend the advantage before Serge Gnabry and Mathys Tel also added to the score tally.

It was not too late for Darmstadt to find a consolation goal, as Vilhelmsson scored late into stoppage-time to cut down the goal arrears for the home side.

Harry Kane made headlines in the game after he became the first Bundesliga debutant to hit a 31-goal tally in the German elite division.

It was another big career milestone for the Three Lions forward who have been on an incredible goalscoring spree for Bayern Munich after his £82m move to the club.

However, his history-making day was smeared with a grim injury blow late in the game. Trying to follow up a close attempt that has bounced off the crossbar, Kane ended up colliding with the post and suffered an excruciating ankle injury.

He was attended to on the field by Bayern Munich medics but could not continue with the game and had to be subbed off with less than nine minutes on the clock.

The injury blow will be a major concern for Bayern Munich as much as England national team.

Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has insisted Bayern will delicately manage Kane's injury blow and won't take chances by allowing him linkup with England national team for March international break.

Kane made Gareth Southgate's 25-man squad for England double-header friendlies against Brazil and Belgium. The Three Lions have to now wait for further updates on the injury before they ascertain if he can make it for the break or not.

Kane has 37 goals with 11 assists in all his 35 matches for Bayern Munich this season.
