Nigerian singer Olawale Olofooro popularly known as Brymo sparks reactions as he hails President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for changing the National Anthem.
President Tinubu signed the assent which changed the Nigeria National Anthem on May 29th, 2024. This sparked outrage among Nigerians who found it unnecessary despite the current economic hardship. The newly re-adopted Anthem, "Nigeria, we hail thee", was written by Lilian Jean Williams in 1959 before independence.
In a recently deleted post on Instagram, Brymo hailed President Tinubu for changing the National Anthem as he referred to him as his G.O.A.T (Greatest of all time). Brymo explained that the new Anthem is what Nigeria needs because the lyrics signify unity in diversity. He said, "President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is officially my G.O.A.T. Of all Nigerian presidents. Read the lyrics of the new National Anthem. The first stanza is all you need.
It asserts Nigeria for motherland and now Africa can be fatherland and can be the symbol of polygamy. And we can all focus on one family unit finally. My favorite part is, "In brotherhood we stand" We are all now members of the greatest cult on earth. Nigeria is now the only brotherhood every boy (and ambitious girl) must belong to in this country. I am very happy"
