Health workers arrested in Ondo state over missing placenta in hospital
Some health workers have been arrested in Ondo state over the issue of a missing placenta. They were 3 in number and they were workers at the Emure-Ile Comprehensive Health Centre, located in Owo Local Government Area in Ondo State.
The cause of the arrest was the missing placenta of a new baby born in the hospital.
The father of the baby had raised an alarm when the health workers didn't give him the placenta after the baby was born.
Mrs Funmilayo, who is the mother of the baby's father, revealed that the hospital had claimed that a dog had entered the hospital and taken the placenta away.
The hospital then pleaded with the family not to be worried. They had begged them not to make an issue out of it saying it wasn't their fault a dog came to steal the placenta.
The family then realised that they were hiding something and so they reported the case to the police.
The health workers who were arrested were taken for questioning.
