Popular Nigerian chef and record breaker, Hilda Baci has revealed that the plaque that was given to her for breaking the Guinness World Record was left for her even though someone else has broken the Record. Recall Hilda Baci broke the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual in May 2023. She cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes.
Her record was broken by an Irish chef named Alan Fisher just a few weeks ago. Hilda Baci is a 28 year old chef and restaurateur. She is the owner of My Food by Hilda. She was given her GWR plaque about a month after she broke the Guinness World Record. She has now revealed that even though she is no longer the record holder, she still has her plaque to show for it.

She was speaking in a recent interview when she mentioned this. She was asked if she got a plaque and she responded that she was given one. The interviewer then asked if it wasn't taken from her after her record was beaten and she responded saying
"Oh no. So they don't take it (the plaque) of you because that record is valid. So they (the new record holders) have to beat that record (Hilda Baci's record) to get to their own record"

She also revealed that the Cook-A-Thon was a great investment for her. She revealed that she spent a lot of money and wasn't paid for it but she still counts it as an investment. She shared that the reason she did the Cook-A-Thon was to become a household name. She wanted her name to come up whenever food was mentioned.

She said "Doing Guinness World Record was a huge investment when you think about it in itself, Guinness doesn't pay you for breaking the record. You actually spend spend shit ton of money for that record because its food and you're cooking a lot of food"
