Hilda Baci sends congratulatory message to Irish chef who broke her Guinness World Record
Popular Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has shared a congratulatory message to the new Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. She sent a message via twitter to Alan Fisher who recently broke the Guinness World Record barely few months after she did.
The GWR shared the news of the new record which has been set by Alan Fisher on their official Twitter and she then replied to their tweet and congratulated him. She also wished him all the best in his endeavours from here onward.
Hilda also expressed her appreciation for being a world record holder. She revealed that she will forever be honoured for the immense support she received when she broke the record 6 months ago.
Recall Hilda Baci attempted the cook-a-thon in May 2023. She beat the existing record set by Chef Lata Tondon and became the new record holder. Chef Lata's record was held for 4 years before Hilda's attempt but Hilda only held her record for 6 months before Alan Fisher took over.
Alan Fisher cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes to break Hilda's record. He also set more than one record at the same yime. He also broke the record for the longest baking marathon. He has now set the baking record at 47 hours and 21 minutes.
In her words "Huge congratulations to Alan Fisher! 119hrs 57mins is a huge achievement, and I wish him all the best as the new world record holder!"
She also said "I’m so happy to have held a record so prestigious and profound I will forever be honored and grateful for all the love and support"
Shortly after this, she revealed that she has updated her bio seeing as her record has been broken.
She said "Just as Chef Lata respectfully acknowledged the new record holder by updating her bio and later fine tuning the wording I’ve adjusted mine too. Achieving such a record is no small feat, and I know this firsthand. I have only the greatest admiration for the hard work it took for Alan to reach such heights. Sportsmanship is about recognizing progress, whether the accolade is in my bio or not. I remain a record holder in spirit and in history. Let’s celebrate achievement and the spirit of competition."
