Nigerian singer-turned-pastor, Opeyemi Gbenga Kayode aka Pepenazi has revealed how God delivered him from alcohol and drug addiction.

In a recent video, Pepenazi said while he was still a secular artist, the devil sold a lie to him that the only way he could perform as an individual is by taking illicit substances in the name of "getting high". He said he couldn't record a song or engage in sexual activity without abusing drugs.

Pepenazi said God wants us to turn away from things that do not glorify His name so the devil will not keep us under control.

Pepenazi is a Nigerian singer popularly known for his hit song "Illegal" featuring Olamide. He is the younger brother of popular on-air personality Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode also known as Do2dtun. Pepenazi shot into the limelight in 2012 but quit music a few years ago to become a pastor. Apart from his hit single "Illegal", Pepenazi released other singles like "Necessary", "Ase" and "Jabo".
