Nigerian singer Inetimi Alfred Timaya Odon, known as Timaya has revealed how he went broke in 2020 while doing drugs.
In a recent interview, Timaya stated that he struggled with drug addiction and it took him time before he quit. He revealed that he started taking drugs in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown. He stumbled on a drug "Molly" when he went to visit some young guys so he decided to try it out and he was hooked.
From that day onward, he lost a lot of weight, spent his money buying drugs and he wasn't eating well. Timaya said doing drugs creates an illusion in your head because it makes you lose yourself. He revealed that he took 3 pills of Molly every day and it felt like medication to him. He didn't realize it until fans even sent him private messages when it started affecting him publicly.
Timaya disclosed that he lost several contracts and deals. He also developed a weak immune system because of the damage the drugs did to him. Timaya revealed that his experience with drugs influenced his hit song Cold Outside.
