In a tell-it-all interview, Alibaba lets us into how he informed his family about his lifelong dream of becoming a professional jester and forfeiting law school. The 58-year old comedian revealed how he came back from school one day to tell his father that he is leaving law school to venture into comedy. This was around 1988.

His father called a family meeting on his behalf that day involving his uncle who lived two blocks away. His uncle whom he thought was going to salvage the situation, also supported his father in rejecting his decision. Alibaba stated, "My uncle said, 'he said he won't read law, that means he has found another father"

His uncle told his father to deal with him because all their efforts to get him educated has been wasted. It was there he knew that he couldn't spend one more hour in his father's house because he would beat him mercilessly. Alibaba disclosed that that was the last time his father said a word to him not until 1998.

He recalled trying to get on speaking terms with his father many times but he proved adamant. Alibaba also said him being a successful comedian is as a result of his innate desire to prove his father wrong.

Alibaba graduated from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma with. degree in Religious Studies an Philosophy. Initially, he wanted to study law but couldn't continue because of his pursuit to be a comedian. Alibaba began his career performing at events and hosting TV and radio shows in 1991.
