The skin is most exposed to the sun and other weather conditions, this accounts for its sensitivity to sunburns and marks. This in turn discolors the face and other parts of the body exposed to the sun, leaving it in an unattractive condition. Okay, since we don’t walk in canopies everywhere we go, it is almost impossible to totally avoid walking under the sun and perhaps for a long period of time… in other words, extra precaution should be taken in order to prevent or get rid of sunburns.

How do we get rid of sunburns? As annoying as they can be, they can also be painful; leading to swelling and inflammation of the skin. Hence, it requires extra protection and careful methods especially if your skin is extra sensitive by nature. Here are some ways you can get rid of them and avoid trying to tackle them repeatedly.

Spend limited time in the sun
Since the sun is our greatest enemy in this aspect, the first thing you should do is try to limit your stay in the sun as much as possible. This can be very helpful in lessening the effects and protecting your skin as a whole, and if you have to stay in the sun, make sure you are sitting or standing under a shade to protect your skin from the harshness of the sun.

Wear protective gear
If you find out that the weather is extremely harsh on a particular day, you can always incorporate stylish elements into your outfit. These include dark shades, hats, handkerchiefs, and clothing that protects every part of your body. This is necessary in order to reduce the effects of the sun on your skin. Ensure that you have all of these items in handy and available to be used when the need calls for it. Protective gears do not only keep you away from feeling the full effect of the sun, but they also help in giving a certain edge to your outfit. With the right choices, you might even feel better about the weather.

Engage the ice method.
Use a clean towel for this in order to apply to the affected area on the face. Hold the ice on the face for a few minutes, approximately five, then repeat the action a few more times in a day, this gives a cool relief and reduces the redness and swelling on the face.

Use natural products
As humans, we should always try to minimize the use of non-natural products on the skin as they can cause more damage to our skin. It might be time to go a little easy on those cleansers, medications, exfoliates, and toners that contain lots of harsh chemicals. A good example of ingredients that can harm your skin can be found in chemicals such as lidocaine or benzocaine. They may be more harmful and prolong the treatment of sunburns. Instead of opting for this, apply aloe vera gel to the affected area. Not only does this help in reducing the redness and swelling, but it also gives a cooling effect and helps the skin in repairing the damage caused by sunburns,

Use Aloe vera
Aloe has been proven to be efficient in healing scars, burns, and so on. Asides from the many benefits of this plant, it can also be used to fight inflammations and moisturize the skin. Aloe vera gel is rich in vitamin E, which is an essential ingredient in ensuring healthy skin. So, if you ever find yourself dealing with a sunburn, you can always turn to aloe Vera to help deal with the situation. Although, before use, ensure that you do a reaction test on any other part of your body asides from your face. If after some minutes you do not feel any negative reactions, then you can proceed to use it on your face.

Always stay hydrated
Staying long hours in the sun can cause our bodies to feel dehydrated, and this is certainly not a good way to help in the treatment of sunburns as it wears the skin out even more. Take water, drink water, and never ignore the urge to get a bottle of water in handy. It will prove more useful than you can ever tell.
Lastly, always make sure your skin stays cool. You can do this by having a cool bath every now and then in order to relax the skin. This also relieves the skin of the usual

Use Sunscreen
Sunscreen helps in ensuring that your face is protected from the harsh realities of the hot weather. This is why it is an essential product that should be incorporated into your skincare routine. Also, it can be applied to other affected areas of the body as instructed. There are various kinds of sunscreen available online and in cosmetic stores. However, you should ensure that you see your dermatologist before purchasing any skin product, so as to be on the safer side.

We may not be totally able to avoid the sun and its effect on our skin. Nonetheless, we can make the effects a bit milder by constantly following these steps and paying a little more attention to our skin. The goal is to have healthy skin that thrives in all weather conditions. So, ensure that you make conscious efforts to achieve this.
