Ramon Olorunwa Abbas aka Hushpuppi is a former Nigerian internet sensation and influencer who was born on the 11th of October 1982. He was sentenced to 11 years imprisonment in the United States for money laundering through fraud and scams. He illegally $14.7 million from a foreign financial institution and defrauded a US law firm of $40 million. Before he got arrested and convicted, he lived an extravagant lifestyle and many looked up to him as their role model. Some Nigerians admired his lifestyle and wished to have a taste of his type of wealth. He was arrested by the Dubai Police in 2020 before he was extradited to the US police.
On the day of his arrest in Dubai, detectives reportedly found cash of 150 million dirhams in his apartment. As if that wasn't enough, they also found 13 luxury cars worth Dh 25 million, 47 high-end phones, 21 laptops, 15 memory storage devices, and 5 external hard drives. They also discovered 800,000 emails of Hushpuppi's potential email compromise victims that he had either defrauded or was about to scam.
