South Korean striker Hwang Ui-Jo had been suspended by the South Korea Football Federation six weeks before the famous Asian Cup because of an allegation that he illegally filmed his ex-girlfriend.
KFA confirmed the suspension saying, "Until a definitive conclusion is drawn, we have decided to exclude Hwang from the national team."

The Norwich striker was accused of filming a sexual and romantic encounter with his former partner on his phone without the consent of the lady, whose name is not disclosed.
The police seized Hwang’s Phone earlier in November 2023 as part of their investigation.
Hwang Ui-Jo's ex-girlfriend claimed she made use of an attorney to force the Norwich City striker to delete the video in question.
Hwang Ui-Jo made the lady more traumatized, claiming the video was made without her consent.
Hwang's legal representative has also said Hwang himself is a victim of an illegal leak of the video in question.
However, Hwang Ui-Jo went ahead to deny the accusation, claiming he was innocent of the accusation.
Hwang Ui-Jo played in the 2022 FIFA World Cup for South Korea and was available for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers for his country.
In the previous match, Hwang Ui-Jo scored a penalty against Singapore. Despite being suspended by the South Korean FA, the striker will continue to play for Norwich.
