Just like his fellow colleague Gabriel Afolayan, Lateef Adedimeji is now a honorary degree holder from The Estam university in Cotonou, Benin Republic.

In a lengthy post on Instagram, Lateef Adedimeji expressed his gratitude saying that he was not interested in fame when he first ventured into acting. Speaking about his new title, he said he never imagined he could bag such a degree because he only wanted to showcase his craft.

The 37-year old added, "This is a message to the outside world that whatever it is that you're doing, keep doing it. Somehow, somewhere, some people are looking at you. When it is time for you to get the recognition you deserve, it will surely come to you."

Abdullateef Adetola Adedimeji began acting in 2007 but he gained prominence in 2013 after starring in Nollywood actress Yewande Adekoya's movie Kudi Klepto. He has featured in over 100 Nollywood movies since then. Some of them include Jagun Jagun, Ayinla, King of Thieves, Jankariwo, Hotel Labamba, Sugar Rush, The Ghost and The Tout 2, Mokalik. Lateef Adedimeji is happily married to Nollywood actress Adebimpe Oyebade.
