Nigerian fast-rising Afrobeats singer Shallipopi was recently interviewed on Zero Conditions podcast and he shared a story of his early-beginning struggles. He narrated how he was in dire need of free accommodation after he sang Elon Musk. He said he needed to be in Lagos but had no relatives he could stay with. Therefore, he reached out to four people who he thought would agree to him staying over at their apartment for four days but they all declined. He was dejected but never gave up. After reaching out to the fifth person and promising to only stay over for four days, the person agreed.

During his stay, he received good news from show organizers somewhere in PortHarcourt who promised to handle his flight to and fro. He was also promised to be paid N50k for the stage performance for this show. His joy knew no bounds after he received the news because that was his first show since he started singing.

Listen to all he said below.
