Nigerian singer Ckay has finally replied to critics insulting him for saying his sound is Emo-Afrobeats and not pure Afrobeats.

The 28-year old singer revealed in a recent interview that his sound is totally different from Afrobeats.

He said he named his sound Emo-Afrobeats because he wanted to do something totally different and own his sound.

Recall that a conversation has also been trending online about Burna Boy who said Afrobeats has no substance and how he said he isn't an Afrobeats artist but an Afro-fusion artist.

In a recent interview, Rema also mentioned in a recent interview that his sound is known as Afro-rave.

This made fans agitated about how Nigerian artists are trying to deviate from their original sound and create a replica of Afrobeats by themselves instead of promoting the sound itself.

Here are some reactions below:

However, Ckay took to his Twitter handle yesterday to reply to fans who are trolling him. He said he can call his sound whatever name he feels like calling it because it is his sound.
