"I didn't let the situation break me down " Funke Akindele speaks on her failed marriage

Popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has revealed how she handled the end of her marriage to JJC Skillz. Funke Akindele is a well known Nigerian actress, film director, producer and politician. She was married to JJC Skills for some years before the duo called it quits.

She recently shared what she learned from her marriage to JJC Skillz who was a talent manager. She revealed this during a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo who is a well-known media personality. She admitted that she actually experienced some problems but she learned a lot.

She shared how she had given into peer pressure and hurriedly got married so as to live up to the expectations people had for her. She shared that things didn't go as planned which resulted in a divorce. He revealed what she went through after her divorce from losing business opportunities to the emotional and mental stress.

She revealed that her mother played a major role in helping her get through that period. She revealed that despite all these, she didn't let the situation break her down. She them shared advice for her fans not to rush into marriage.

In her words “Take your time, if you rush in you will rush out. You know, I just wanted to get married. I want to do things right, have children and all that. When I went into the marriage, it didn’t work fine. And it ended in a very bad way, in social media, the noise was everywhere. I was actually filming and somebody called me and told me, I wanted to die! You know I cried, lost some good deals then. But I didn’t let it break me. Thank God for my mum who encouraged me to put more effort to work. I channeled the energy to work and I kept saving more. I didn’t let the situation break me down.”
