During an interview with Wazobia FM, Nollywood actress Funke Akindele disclosed that she didn't see her broken marriage as a failure. She said she was taught resilience by her mother which makes her view the world in a different light. According to her, failure comes before success hence, she doesn't really take things to heart. Instead, she takes things as they come because her mental health is far more important than whatever pain she is experiencing at the moment. The Nollywood actress said she is more focused on fulfilling her purpose and catering to her children.

She added that whenever she was down, she usually cried and wiped her tears because life has to continue regardless. She further stated, "My mental health is very important, my career is very important, darling. I have to make an impact. I have to empower a lot of people. I have to inspire young people out there. I have to stay strong for my children, my siblings." She then said she must fulfill the purpose for which she was sent to this world.

Recall that Funke Akindele got married to Abdulrasheed Bello popularly known as JJC Skillz in 2016 but the ex-couple separated in 2022. They were blessed with a set of twins in 2018, who have been staying with their mom since the separation happened.
