Fast rising Nigerian singer Shallipopi revealed his own style of making music saying that he doesn't write music like most artists. Instead, he just freestyles off his head.
The singer who was at Cool FM earlier this week revealed how he makes his own music without having to write down lines or rack his brain. To him, music comes freely when recording.
He said, "I don't write music. I just freestyle off my head. Even the ones that look written, I did not write it."
He confirmed that all his songs are freestyles including his viral hit Elon Musk and his newly released EP Planet Pluto.
He said, "Even the serious ones are freestyles. I did my EP in a matter of two hours. I recorded it just freestyling. It's not a serious thing." He also mentioned that though he freestyles, he takes his music very seriously.
He said writing to him is too professional and strict. "Music is supposed to be like a vibe", he proposed.
The interviewer, Dotun asked him if he reads people's comments on social media about his music and he responded saying, "I do. Even the bad ones, I dey laugh to am sometimes. You dey mess me, I laugh, you dey appreciate me, I laugh. Them no dey pain me, e suppose motivate me."
Dotun asked him what the best comment he has read about himself is and he said, "Multiple comments. I can't choose the best. I watch out for the bad ones too, looking for it."
