Popular Nigerian comedian, AY Makun has revealed that he found out his house was on fire on instablog. The comedian shared this during a recent interview with Toke Makinwa on the latest episode of her podcast, Toke Moments. He disclosed that he didn't even know his house was on fire until he went to social media and saw it on instablog9ja. He revealed that he wasn't in the country at the time this happened.

AY Makun is a famous Nigerian Comedian, film director, producer, TV person and actor. His full name is Ayodeji Richard Makun but he is famously known as just AY. AY is 52 years old. He is married to a woman named Mabel Makun who he got married to in 2008. AY's house in Lekki, Lagos got burnt some months ago. This incident occurred on Sunday, the 6th of August 2023. Fire fighters came to the rescue and put out the fire although a good part of the house was already destroyed by the fire. The fire was caused by an electrical appliance.

Thankfully, neither AY, his wife or children were at home when this incident occurred. AY revealed that he was on tour in Canada when this happened while his wife and children were in the United States of America. AY had found out his house was burnt on the internet. He revealed that he woke up that morning and saw over 78 missed calls and knew immediately that something was wrong. He then went on the internet and the first thing he saw was that his house was on fire.

In his words "I woke up and i saw about 78 missed calls and I didn't know what was going on. So I woke up to these calls and I knew something has happened, so the first thing that I saw when I opened my phone was my house on fire on Instablog, that's how I found out. I was in Canada on a tour at the time…That was my point of thanksgiving, knowing fully well that my family was on holidays. So when people see me and people are like 'He's still doing what he does best' I say it's my thanksgiving because will I be talking about a house that is aflame or the set of thing that got burnt in that house if I lose my family? No. I would be devastated, gone and a living corpse, so my thanksgiving is that we were all away."
