Nigerian singer Daniel Benson popularly known as BNXN stated that he prefers being an independent artist to being signed to a record label.
While speaking to Hip TV, the singer spoke about his journey into the entertainment world and how signing a deal with Burna Boy and landing a feature with him paved the way for him.
BNXN said record labels are good but it may not be necessary to be under one as an artist. To BNXN, joining a label has to do with how an artist views himself and his level of development in his career.
He said, "As an artist, if you feel joining a label is going to take you where you're supposed to be or if you feel you can get to where you're supposed to be on your own, then you can.
He described Burna Boy as an icon, someone he looks up to in the industry. He said signing a deal with Burna Boy and working for him was very amazing because he never thought it could happen.
He revealed that Burna Boy signed him to his label the same day he met him. He said Burna Boy taught him consistency and confidence and trying to stand out with your craft.
