Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Dominic has revealed that she once quit acting to become a caregiver in London.
In a recent video, Rita Dominic revealed that she quit acting and moved to London in 2001 after she had a fallout with a group of friends. Rita disclosed that she started working as a caregiver to make ends meet.
Rita said she never viewed her past experiences as a setback. Rather, it gave her joy and fulfillment. She mentioned that being a caregiver wasn't difficult for her because she took care of her parents when they were seriously ill.
Rita Dominic opened up on how much she misses her late mother. She wished she was alive to witness her success but the pain never goes away. "She was very instrumental to my growth. I remember being on the plane going back to Lagos after she had passed. It was such a turbulent flight but I didn't flinch. I wanted the plane to crash so I could see my mother.
My father stopped living the day my mother died. He became ill and his health declined. All my siblings moved back to the UK and I was all alone in Nigeria. I was losing friends and Nollywood. Waiting months between jobs felt like an eternity. I lost some people whom I thought were friends. Some friends I considered family. It was such a turbulent time in my life.", Rita said.
