In a recent interview with United Masters, Nigeria Afrobeat singer Davido revealed how he didn't take a dime from the proceeds of his signees for four years after he established his record label Davido Music Worldwide(DMW). He mentioned that his record label is more like a family to him and he ran it for four years without collecting money from his artist.

Davido said he was young at the time and all he had in mind was to pour into his artist. Despite paying for the shooting of his artist's music videos, accommodation, welfare, and other things people wouldn't normally do for free, he didn't see the need to collect money from his artist.
