Nigerian singer Mayowa Adewale popularly known as Mayorkun recalls how he used to write songs to escape depression from working at the bank.
Mayorkun revealed that he had no office nor a desk while he was working at the bank. He couldn't remember his post but he knew he once worked at the bank. He recounted a particular incident when his colleague at work sent him on an errand to buy Amala.
Mayorkun said he referred to himself as "Small Omo Odo" meaning little househelp. He talked about how he hated himself for running such errands and he'd get home and pour all his frustrations into music.
He said he used to write songs to sleep and sometimes he'd cry while he was writing songs because he wasn't satisfied with the life he lived at the time. "I used to write songs to sleep. Sometimes I'm crying and I'm writing songs. Every time I come back from the bank, I'm angry", he revealed.
