I still get bullied till today over the goal I missed 13 years ago, retired footballer Yakubu Aiyegbeni says

Retired Nigerian professional football Yakubu Aiyegbeni revealed he still gets bullied for missing a goal 13 years ago. He said that it is surprising how he receives messages from strangers every now and then, reprimanding him for not scoring a goal. Yakubu said people are so used to remembering the one thing you didn't do well, that they forget to appreciate you for the remaining 99 you've done amazingly great. He recounted how he was the one who scored the major goal that sent Nigeria into the World Cup Final in the year 2000. However, people seemed to have forgotten that and they kept bullying him for missing just one goal at a match.

While speaking to the host of the podcast, Yakubu Aiyegbeni said, "I still get messages from people. Different message. I remember one sent me a message I think last week, and was like how do you explain that goal that you missed to your daughter Kayla? He mentioned my daughter name Kayla. You understand? I was like wow. 13, 14 years ago people still think about it?"
