Grammy award-winning artist Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems reveals how she struggled with body dysmorphia.
In an interview with Korty, the international superstar opened up on how she always felt about her body. Despite the numerous comments Tems often gets on social media, she never liked her body until recently. Tems expressed how her attractiveness sometimes comes in her way of achieving her dreams.
To limit public attention and the male gaze, Tems started going to the studio in baggy clothes so men could take her seriously and work with her.
She said, "If my being attractive is disturbing you and stopping me from achieving my goal, I'm going to help you. So when I go to the studio, I wear baggy clothes. I'm in my alpha mode because I want you to not be seduced by me. It's your choice if you want to be seduced but most of the time, it works because they can tell she's just here to work."
