Nigerian songstress Oyinkansola Aderibigbe popularly known as Ayra Starr reflects on her life before fame as she reveals she used to sell vegetables and fruits with her grandma.

The 21-year old singer revealed via her Instagram story that she used to sell fruits and vegetables with her grandma six years ago. She said she used to sing to whoever wanted to listen to her but now, people pay to see her perform on stage.

Ayra Starr expressed her immense gratitude to God for blessing her. Having achieved so much at such a young age, she's happy about her growth in the music industry.

She wrote, "6 years ago, this used to be me selling vegetables and fruits with my grandma, singing to whoever wanted to hear me. Now people are paying to watch me perform."

Ayra Starr was born on 11th September 2002 in Benin Republic. She spent her childhood in Lagos and Abuja before proceeding to Benin Republic for her university education where she studied International Relations and Political Science.

Ayra Starr is signed to Don Jazzy's Mavin Records. She shot into the limelight in 2021 with her hit single Away from her debut EP. She released her debut album "19 & Dangerous" in 2021.

She is well known for her songs including "Bloody Samaritan", "Rush", "Sability" among others. She became the youngest female artist in Africa to garner more than 100 million YouTube views on a single video.
