I was set up, Lizzy Anjorin says after being accused of theft in Eko market
After Lizzy Anjorin was accused of theft in the Eko market, she took to her page to disclose what truly transpired at the market. The Nollywood actress claimed that she was set up and the stories making rounds in the media are untrue. She said sometime in November 2023, she purchased fashion accessories from one of the traders in the Eko market. She didn't have cash to pay for the goods she bought, so she contacted her husband to transfer N91,000 to the trader's account. She said at first, the transfer wasn't successful and she left the trader's shop for almost 2 hours to shop for other things at the market, intending to return to the trader's shop.
When she returned, she asked the trader if the money had reflected in her account and she confirmed that it was successful. From there, she felt she was ready to leave with her goods and bid the trader goodbye. Upon returning to the market yesterday, she went to that same trader's shop to purchase other fashion accessories but had no idea that she was going to be accused of theft. She said the trader started calling her a thief and lied about how she had received a fake transfer from the actress.
