Igbo group pleads with Tinubu to intervene over Ekweremadu case
A group has pleaded with the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to intervene in the matter of the Ekweremadus.
This group, Igbo Indigenes Without Border, is a socio-cultural organisation.
They have begged Bola Ahmed Tinubu to act on the case of their fellow Nigerian.
The President of this group is Dr Bernard Oshi, and he made the appeal at a news conference in Abuja and this was on Friday.
The Ekweremadus, Mr Ike and his wife Beatrice were convicted by the court for organ harvesting.
It was the United Kingdom Central Criminal Court, London, who convicted the husband and wife of this crime.
Mr Bernard Oshi pleaded that the president-elect look into the matter so that the government of the UK will have mercy on the couple.
He also went ahead to call in the diplomatic corps members in the United States to also assist.
He mentioned they has monitored his retired as a politician and lawyer so they are concerned with it.
He mentioned that it was a parental instinct of their part to try to protect their daughter who was sick so as to seek a kidney donor.
He also used this opportunity to congratulate the incoming president if Nigeria and some others.
He also commendedthe outgoing president, General Muhammadu Buhari.
